Start With Yourself

Artical Meditation Benefits

Meditation is a way to relax your body and achieve peace of mind.

Once you start to meditate, you will find yourself having clarity and more energy.

With the economy being what it is, it is important to realize that opportunity is still out there for those who chose to look.  We must all change the way we look at things for things to be different.  That  old saying of   ‘”When you do the same things over and over again and expect a different outcome…” is a philosophy that we must look at closer within ourselves.  If you need to have an example of this, get hold of and read the book “Who Stole My Cheese?”   It is an easy read that is  told in a simple story format.  The message is profound.   If you’re having trouble understanding what is happening with the economy and how it affects you but you know that it does affect you then read this book.

If you really want to step out of your comfort zone or the box society has put you in (or that you have let society put you in), then you need to look at things differently.

When you wake up and find yourself unprepared for the economy as it is now, you need to look at the possibilities that you may not have thought about before.

Start with yourself.  Is your self-esteem taking a beating daily?  When you think of a solution and you tell someone, do they knock it down?

You need to protect your dreams.  If you know someone who always tells you the negative about any ideas your have, stay away from them.  Do not share with them. You may need to find someone to be your sounding board. We all need input and suggestions on how to improve on a plan or idea.  Constructive criticism is helpful even when at first it may be a little hurtful.  But it is necessary for growth and improvement. So before you start you daily meditation,  pray for the right people to come into your life.  They will show up when you need them.

Let’s start with truth and honesty… with yourself.  On March 19, I posted an article on Becoming Honest With Ourselves.   Have you been working on self honesty?  Has it helped you? Are you kind to yourself?

My hope is that it has and that you can continue to move forward on your path.

Meditate whenever and wherever you are.  Short moments of free time can be turned into a mini meditation to go along with your daily longer meditation.  Practicing clearing you mind.

Influence of Words and Thoughts

We seldom sit down and question our beliefs.  How often have we said, “That’s the way I am.” or “That’s the way it is.”?  What we’re really saying is that it is what we “believe to be true.”  Usually what we believe is only an other’s opinion that we’ve accepted and brought into our own belief system. We did not start out that way.  When we were tiny babies, we were pure joy and love. We knew we were perfect.  And that is the truth of our being.  Everything else is learned nonsense and can be unlearned.

What are you thinking about right now?  If thoughts shape your life and experiences, would you want this thought to become true for you?  Take a little time to listen to the words you say.  If you hear yourself saying something three times, write it down.  It has become a pattern for you.  At the end of the week, look at the list and you’ll see how your words fit your experiences.  Be open and willing to change your words and thoughts and watch your life change. Words have power and you want that power to be positive for you. The way to control your life is to control your choice of words and thoughts.

Healing Yourself And Others

Artical Meditation Benefits

As you connect to the life force within you through meditation, you can begin consciously to direct it to start the healing process in yourself and others.  The life force within you is your natural healing and balancing energy. All healing is ultimately self-healing.  We can not “heal” someone else, but we can direct energy and positive suggestions for health and wholeness which another may accept on deep levels of his being, effecting a healing within his body.

The great thing about this is that in the energy of the mind there is no time or space, so healing may be directed to a person whether near or far.

When my sister was struggling with cancer in Boston, I did a healing prayer and healing meditation for her and I live in California.  Here is the method I used.

Sending Healing to Others

1. Put your hands in prayer position or fold together.  Close your eyes.

2. In your mind, picture the person as clearly as possible that you wish to send healing.  See this person as happy, healthy, and doing something that suggests health.

3. Concentrate on this image with intensity until it feels real.  Create the emotional feeling of happiness and well being within yourself, and project it into this image. The stronger the feeling, the better.

4. After about two minutes, take a deep breath, relax, and turn your palms up. Continue to focus gently on the image, now seeing the person completely engulfed in the white light healing energy, which is balancing and harmonizing body, mind and spirit.

5. Mentally repeat to this person, “The natural state of your being is health and wholeness.”

6. After about two minutes, release the image from your mind, close your palms, and open your eyes.  Surround yourself with the white light.

You can do this for yourself as well as others.
